Where are you located? We are located at 1037 Pruitt Rd, The Woodlands, TX 77380.
 
When did you open? We celebrated our Grand Opening on Sunday, Aug 2, 2026.
 
Do you have adult classes? Yes! We love our adults. Visit our academy class schedule to view current offerings. For adults, we offer payment options to fit your life: Single classes, class cards (5 and 10 class options), or monthly memberships.
 

Are auditions required? This varies by division and track. Depending on age, stage, and level, dancers may attend an audition or be considered via a placement class.

  • Young Dancers and Lower School: Attend placement class.
  • Enrichment Program: Attend audition or schedule placement class.
  • Excellence Program: Attend audition or schedule audition class.
  • Adult Open Classes: No audition required. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced options available. Professional dancers welcomed to contact the studio for specialized class rates and offerings.
 
How can my youth dancer audition or be evaluated for level placement? Dancers/Parents may complete this Dancer Evaluation form and submit audition videos and materials. Your videos and answers will help us make an informed and personalized placement recommendation.
 

Is there be a dress code? Yes. We partner with So Danca for our uniforms. Sample sizes are available at the office. See Dress Code page for more details.

  • Enrichment Program: Black leotard, ballet tights, and shoes.
  • Excellence (Pre-Professional) Program: Uniform leotard color varies by level. Please wait to purchase dress code uniform until level placement is finalized.
  • Adult Classes: Free Dress. Proper shoes and a secure hair style are always recommended. Beyond that, we encourage wearing ballet attire or athletic wear. Wear clothes that allow you to move freely and comfortably.

Does ballet count as Off-Campus PE? Yes (depending on how many hours your child takes per week). We are a CISD Off-Campus PE vendor. If your dancer is in a different district, please contact us at 5678@opaballet.com to inquire.

Do your dancers compete? We choose to prioritize development (developing as dancers AND as humans), performance opportunities, and community outreach/education. For students in our Excellence Track interested in competing, competition opportunities are considered if/when developmentally appropriate or supportive.

What calendar do you follow? Our academy calendar most closely aligns with the Conroe Independent School District calendar. While we may not take off every federal holiday, we aim to work with the local community calendar and rhythms. Generally speaking, this looks like summer offerings (July), pre-season programming (August), and the school year season (September 1, 2026 – June 26, 2027). Holidays and closures are scheduled in advance and may be viewed on our “Calendar” page.

What classes are offered? We are a ballet school, so ballet related classes are the primary focus. We believe ballet provides a wonderful foundation: Ballet training naturally facilitates applied explorations of numerous concepts from musicality, rhythm, expression, and storytelling to basics of biomechanics, anatomy, proprioception, and physics. Our ballet-related offerings include ballet technique, creative dance, pre-ballet, pre-pointe, pointe, body conditioning, repertoire (corps de ballet, variations, repertoire rehearsals, etc), and topic specific workshops. While we focus on ballet, as dancers develop it is crucial they cross-train both physically and across dance genres and styles. Our middle and upper school divisions are also introduced to supplementary coursework, dance genres, and specialty classes (i.e. character, modern, jazz, contemporary, etc). Some supplementary classes are integrated into curriculum offerings while others are offered via workshops.

Can my OPA dancer attend a make-up class? Yes. Make-up classes must be taken within one month of the absence. We have make-up slips available at the front desk. If/when your dancer misses a class and desires to attend a make-up class, please 1) notify us which class you intend to attend as a make-up by emailing 5678@opaballet.com and 2) fill out a make-up slip (pictured in attachment) to give to the teacher of the make-up class. This will ensure both the office staff and teachers are in the loop and aware of the make-up.

What classes are available as make-up classes? Dancers are permitted to make-up in any class at or below their level. It is recommended to make-up in a similar genre or class category: Take ballet for a missed ballet class, pointe for a missed pointe class, a supplemental class for a missed supplemental class (i.e. jazz, conditioning), etc. If a dancer misses jazz, they are welcome to make up in conditioning (and vice versa). If there is not a pointe or supplemental class that fits your schedule, ballet can always be taken as a make-up.
 
Do you offer discounts for military, first responders, and teachers? Yes. We are grateful for the many families and parents who serve our community. Thank you for your service. Proof of ID is required upon enrollment to redeem discount.
 
Do you offer discounts for families with multiple dancers? Yes. We love our families and desire to promote an environment where dance training is accessible for families with multiple dancers.
